FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
ARE PINK GLITTER DOLLS FOR ADULTS ONLY?
No! We want everyone to be able to enjoy our lifelike baby dolls. That being said, our dolls must be handled with care. If you treat your doll like you would treat a real baby (support the head, handle gently), it will last for many years and stay looking as good as new!
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY DOLL?
Dolls should never be exposed to high temperatures or moisture (left in a hot car or outside, or submerged in/wiped with water). If your doll gets dusty or needs cleaning, use a soft, dry brush or a cotton ball/swab to clean the areas where dirt has collected. Never wipe vinyl parts with a wet wipe or cloth or use any kind of cleaning solution as this can damage the paint. Always hold a doll as if it were a real baby, never by the head or a limb.
However, if a limb does come off, don't panic! It's easy to fix and we can walk you through it. If your doll has to be left in a vehicle, make sure it is concealed completely by a blanket. We have had customers report that the police have been called and windows have been broken because someone thought a real baby was left in a car!
WHAT IF MY DOLL BECOMES DAMAGED?
Sometimes we can help repair a doll if it has become damaged (eyelashes come unglued, a limb comes off, etc.). However, sometimes we cannot (nail polish, marker, pen marks, etc.). We ask that you please use discretion when ordering a doll for a child. If the child is very young, you may want to wait until they are old enough to care for their baby gently, or let them hold their doll with supervision and then put it away when they are done. All kids are different, and things happen to even the most careful of mamas. If your doll has become damaged, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
At the moment, we offer a 60 day layaway on regularly-priced dolls (not applicable on clearance or special sales). We send all invoices through PayPal (you do not need an account to pay) and also take credit card orders over the phone (no cash on delivery, checks, or money orders please).
The layaway plan includes three equal payments over 60 days (1/3 deposit, 1/3 due in 30 days, 1/3 due in 60 days). The terms of your layaway will be clearly stated on your invoice (to pay 1/3, just use the Partial Pay option) and you are always welcome to pay your balance early. We do not check credit or collect interest on layaways, but rather offer this option as an agreement that you will pay your balance in full and on time.
Due to the nature of custom orders, we do not offer refunds and reserve the right to cancel an order if payments have not been sent. If you receive a doll that is damaged, please contact us and we would be happy to resolve your issue.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO MAKE MY CUSTOM DOLL?
That depends. If it is our busy time of year (between September - December for the holidays), we take orders early so customers will be in line but typically do not ship until November or December for Christmas orders. If you need a doll for a special occasion or birthday, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. We do not offer rush orders and need at least four weeks' notice to complete your doll. If you take advantage of our 60-day layaway option, your doll will not be shipped until your layaway is paid in full. Certain orders, like ordering multiple dolls or rooted hair, can take considerably longer.
If you are interested in ordering a doll for Christmas, please start your layaway as soon as possible. We are completely booked every year by the time the holidays arrive, so get in line early so you don't miss out!
CAN YOU MAKE A DOLL LOOK LIKE MY CHILD?
We do not sculpt the dolls but purchase already-made blank kits and then customize and paint them. We welcome photos of your child for inspiration, however your doll will not be an exact replica from a picture or model. You are able to customize skin tone, eyes, hair, weight, and gender, so you can get pretty close with all the kits and details available to choose from!
CAN I CHOOSE IF THE DOLL IS AWAKE OR ASLEEP?
The kits are already molded a certain way, so they come either awake or asleep already. We are unable to make a sleeping kit with open eyes or an awake kit with closed eyes. But you are able to choose a custom eye color for all awake babies.
DOES THE DOLL DO ANYTHING SPECIAL?
Our dolls are made to look real but do not wet, cry, or blink. We can, however, add some cool extras, like a magnetic pacifier or a heartbeat box to your custom baby.
WILL MY DOLL WEAR REGULAR BABY CLOTHES?
YES! The size of the doll determines the size of the clothes and diapers it will wear.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF A FINISHED DOLL?
Our dolls range from preemie sized (15"-17"), newborn (18"- 20"), and bigger babies (21"+) all the way up to toddlers. Our most frequently ordered sizes are preemie and newborn for children. We can make them weigh whatever you like, but we recommend about 3-4 pounds for younger children (their arms tire quickly).
WHY ARE REBORN DOLLS SO EXPENSIVE?
When you order a custom doll from us, we spend time customizing every detail for you. It can take days and even weeks to make a single doll depending on what you order. The doll kits and components are costly, but we also must replace tools, paints, and materials regularly. More than that, you are purchasing a one-of-a-kind handmade keepsake. We put our hearts into each and every baby to make them special for every customer. With years of experience and personalized customer service, we strive to provide top quality dolls and a one-on-one relationship with our customers. Reborn dolls can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars. We have tried to keep our prices reasonable through the years and hope that our layaway plan will help give everyone the opportunity to own a handmade reborn doll of their own.
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
We do not offer refunds on custom orders unless the doll you receive is damaged. We do our best to provide detailed, high quality photos of your doll both during the creation process and before we ship to make sure you will be happy with your baby before it arrives home.
